Hey, how are ya?

My name is Matt, but my friends call me Weaver... Which means now you can too.

I used to be the new guy in town, but after everyone in the city opened their arms to me, I feel like I've been in Cornwall and SD & G for a lot longer than I have.

Cornwall and SD & G has everything a person could want, right? People, beer, a river, food, fun, fishing, beer, politics, sports, ATV's, The Highland Games, a hospital, the Cornwall Civic Complex (even if it doesn't have a bar anymore) and did I mention the beer?

Here’s some things we may have in common:

Favorite Food: Roast beef, mashed potato’s, kernel corn (none of that cream corn junk) and gravy.

Favorite Book: Have A Nice Day:  A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks, by Mick Foley

Favorite Sport/Team: Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Raptors, MMA

Favorite Television Show:Sportscenter

Morning Must-Have: Bathroom break.

Band/Artist you would love to see live that you haven’t: Pink Floyd

Words to live by: “Time is the world’s greatest teacher, but it kills all of it’s students”  OR “Live fast, die hard”

Favorite Rock:My pet rock?

Three Bands I Wish I’d Seen: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Grateful Dead

Random fact: I once ate raw chicken and didn’t get sick.  Super stomach!

Whew! Bios are tough. So forget about me. Why are we talking about me so much?

How are you? Send me an email sometime. I would love to talk about any of the stuff above, but in reality, I want to talk about what's on your mind! What's making you tick? Rock 101.9 is all about making you happy, but you've got to tell us what you think!

What do you like talking about?  Is it:  Reading, writing, racing, music, politics, the outdoors, lucky horse-shoes, Leprechauns, finding money in the street (which is what one of my goals was when I graduated from school. No joke!), real estate, alcohol, late nights and early (show) mornings, being an older brother, eating melted cheese or  garage sales?  Maybe it’s something different?

You can reach me at matt@rock1019.com. Say "Hey Matt, what's shaking?" or "Hey Weaver, what's the good word". I'd like that.

Take it easy, and don't forget to...

ROCK ON!

What’s the best part about Back to School?

What’s the best part about Back to School? What’s the best part about “Back to School”? Is it: The kids not sitting at home with nothing to do; the kids not complaining that “we’re bored”; the start of Home & School Association meetings…

It’s actually none of the above.

The best part about “Back to School” is the RETURN OF THE ROUTINE!

Sounds silly, right? It’s not. There’s something to say about routine. You always know what’s coming next, and you can plan around that knowledge. You know you’ve got to get up at 6, get the kids up at 7, get them dressed, fed and on the bus in the morning. You know you can’t stay late at work, because you’ve got to pick up the kids and make dinner. And so on and so forth…

Having a routine gives life structure. And that's the best part about Back to School.

Do you agree? Send an email to matt@rock1019.com

Enjoy the first day kids…

ROCK ON!
